Drinkin' on the Go

The San Carlos Road Runner Sports Adventure Run is a bonafide running event (of sorts), but it's also a scavenger hunt that can land you some cool prizes. The kind folks at Road Runner Sports organize a number of different scavenger hunts throughout the year at their locations in Campbell, Berkeley, and San Carlos. Arrive at the designated store early to get your supplies. Once the event map is disclosed, it's game on. You'll need to find as many raffle tickets (good for prizes after the event) as humanly possible. No hitting, kicking, or eyeball-poking is allowed, but a friendly nudge to a competitor to steer him/her off the course is expected. At the end of your journey, frolic in the Pyramid Beer Garden and try to figure out why you lost this seemingly easy event so badly.

2015 San Carlos Road Runner Sports Adventure Run takes place in San Carlos at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 at Road Runner Sports, 1125 Industrial Road, San Carlos; free but RSVP required; adventurerun.com/sancarlos

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
