Nothing, really. While there's no doubt that smoked cannabis is a lung irritant, there's no link between marijuana smoking and lung cancer or emphysema (we dare you to find a study saying otherwise). Still, it's likely that the physician writing your recommendation told you to avoid bongs, pipes, and rolled joints in favor of edibles or vaporizing. Be responsible, while keeping in mind that there's no quicker way to put just the right amount of THC or CBD into your bloodstream than through the lungs. That's how humanity has been taking in its cannabis since the beginning, notes Martin Olive of Haight Street's Vapor Room. And don't forget that socializing is medicine and therapy, too: "The act of passing a pipe is a social tradition that goes back centuries and provides added benefits not easily quantifiable to this day," Olive says.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
