Psychobilly St. Patrick's Day

Wednesday, Mar 16 2011
You don't like the color green, tiny men, or beer (Wait, what are we talking about? Everyone likes beer.) But you do like experimental psychobilly rock 'n' roll blues. Armed with a guitar, sleigh bells, and a kick drum the Wounded Stag is a two-man show led by one-man band Andrew Goldfarb (the Slow Poisoner) and writer/performer Dan Carbone. Themes include demon children, blackbirds, dogs, and Eskimos. As the Shangri-Las would tell you in their song "Dressed in Black," " ... hold back the tears from your eyes," because "Dressed in Black" is an deliciously creepy alternative to the typical St. Patrick's Day shenanigans.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
