Presidio Trust historian Barbara Berglund leads a discussion of Scott McGaugh’s, Surgeon in Blue: Jonathan Letterman, The Civil War Doctor Who Pioneered Battlefield Care (Arcade Publishing, 2013). Learn about the namesake of the Presidio’s Letterman Army Medical Center and Letterman Digital Arts Center. Jonathan Letterman revolutionized combat medicine as chief medical officer of the Army of the Potomac. This best-selling biography recounts Letterman’s life from his small-town Pennsylvania beginnings to his trailblazing wartime years and his subsequent life as the medical examiner of San Francisco. This title is available for purchase at the Presidio Visitor Center.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
