"There are legitmate differences between a conservative and a liberal," notes comedian Will Durst. "A liberal believes that by helping the greater good, it will eventually come back and benefit me. And a conservative believes the opposite. A conservative believes by helping me, it'll eventually come back and benefit me." The joke is typical Durst, although most of his stuff is up-to-the-second topical and not soft on anyone, although we think he takes the piss out of the right more often than the left. Of the above snark, for example, he points out that "Even conservatives will laugh at that joke, because they don't care."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
