At Scene Missing, six writers and comedians share work inspired by movie trailers of films starring Jeff Goldblum. Let that sink in. This is the literary equivalent of talking during the previews. "I was forced to watch a very upsetting film called The Fly, which I naturally took to be a metaphor for cocaine and Goldblum's smoldering sexuality," says Nate Waggoner, who claims to have been blackmailed into doing this reading. "Let's just say it's international and involves rare felines and is not what you'd expect," he says of the plot coercing his performance. Tim Toaster Henderson, Alani Foxall, Ivan Hernandez, and Scott Simpson, who will also be performing, were unavailable for comment, though Sarah Griffin, who will join them, reports: "Nate Waggoner just called me crying and also singing the theme song to Jurassic Park while crying." Clearly, preparation for this event has been taking a toll on Waggoner. "The more of you come... the sooner I will be free from this literary hell-prison," he says.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
