Hosfelt Gallery will present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Jutta Haeckel hung alongside antique Japanese stone objects. Haeckel's recent paintings on jute—the strong, coarse, natural fiber that burlap is made of—utilize a series of unorthodox techniques to undermine the physical and conceptual precepts of painting. An opening reception with the artist will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 4 - 6 pm.
