The Octopus Preservation Committee and Power Unit 17 present a day-long benefit for the Octopus Literary Salon, to be held at the Octopus itself on Sunday, July 21. 12 hours, 100 readers, 12 music acts. Readers include writers from the Octopus’ regular series along with dozens of others from the community, including a multi-voice performance at 1pm by the writers of Liminal. There will be readers and a brief music act each hour until 8pm. Then we’ll finish things off till 10pm with the post-punk sounds of Preening and Marbled Eye. Save the Octopus, save the world!

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
