With all of the Twitter wars, gender and race politics, gossip about her love life, and almost non-stop controversy that swirls around Nicki Minaj, it's sometimes easy to forget that she is still a working musician, with a touring schedule. (Nicki just looks cooler doing it.) This week, the Pink Print tour finally hits Concord, and you should keep your expectations high because Minaj is not a performer who does anything small. Big stage show, big costumes, big choreography, big hair, and — oh, yeah — the biggest tracks. "Anaconda" and "Super Bass" alone are enough to blow up the place, but it's frequently on her lesser-known songs that Nicki's skills as a rapper really shine through. Entertainment guaranteed.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
