NAPT: Show Preview

The London-based production and remix team NAPT (Tomek Naden and Ashley Pope) is perhaps best known for last year's "Make My Day," a remake of Technotronic's 1989 dance hit "Pump Up the Jam," as well as "Gotta Have More Cowbell," which makes judicious use of an infamous catchphrase coined by Christopher Walken on Saturday Night Live. Both, though ostensibly gimmicky, are shining examples of the immersive basslines, throwback house chords, and crisp breakbeats that are this duo's hallmark.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday.
