Today, the de Young launches an exhibit made up of artists who have not paid enough dues, sweated enough blood, or even squeezed out a living in an artists garret, loft, or padded cell. No, not museum donors children. But these kids are well on their way to making names for themselves, thanks to "Young at Art." Works by more than 2,000 students, from kindergarten to voting age, hang on the museum walls, but thats just the beginning. Throughout the nine-day event, more than 45 student groups show up for dance and music performances, filmmakers arm the projector for screenings (May 19), and literary scribblers get a podium and a audience for readings (May 23).
