Morrissey at The Masonic

Good thing the Masonic doesn't have a kitchen, because we all know how much our favorite vegan loves to hate on venues that serve meat. (In fact, Morrissey is so serious about not performing where burgers and dogs are sold that he has both cancelled shows and walked off stages altogether). When the 56-year-old is not busy promoting animal rights, penning open letters to Al Gore, or writing novels about cursed relay teams, he's on the road, and San Francisco is lucky enough to be one of the cities he's gracing with his presence. Concertgoers should be forewarned: You will see a lot of people wearing Smiths T-shirts, and you'll be subjected to a lot of anti-slaughterhouse videos. Oh, and you'll also see grown men crying. Grown men. Crying.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
