When right-wingers say that liberals are "arugula eaters," we have to imagine they're just jealous. (Same with people who use "gay" as an insult, oui? Crybabies.) San Francisco is famous and envied (openly and otherwise) for its food culture and meal-serving institutions many of which serve arugula. Up there with the best of our proud restaurants is A16, and there, chefs put the green stuff on fierce pizza, among other things. In fact, they wrote a book about it. Chef-owners and foodie rock stars Nate Appleman and Shelley Lindgren join Kate Leahy in a demonstration (theyre bringing food!) and discussion of their Ten Speed Press cookbook, A16 Food & Wine. It isn't all about arugula, but we're pretty sure the left-wing mascot vegetable is in there somewhere.
