When right-wingers say that liberals are "arugula eaters," we have to imagine they're just jealous. (Same with people who use "gay" as an insult, oui? Crybabies.) San Francisco is famous and envied (openly and otherwise) for its food culture and meal-serving institutions — many of which serve arugula. Up there with the best of our proud restaurants is A16, and there, chefs put the green stuff on fierce pizza, among other things. In fact, they wrote a book about it. Chef-owners and foodie rock stars Nate Appleman and Shelley Lindgren join Kate Leahy in a demonstration (they’re bringing food!) and discussion of their Ten Speed Press cookbook, A16 Food & Wine. It isn't all about arugula, but we're pretty sure the left-wing mascot vegetable is in there somewhere.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
