Mind the Ripping Current

Tonight, if history is any judge, we’ll get multicolored fog. It’ll be beautiful, really, especially if you ignore what’s happening inside of it and how many tens of thousands of dollars' worth of explosions are occurring within the drizzly mass. We suggest a kayak trip in the bay. Why? One: Because nighttime kayaking is one of those things you should do before you leave the city, like loitering in the Tenderloin or hitting all the lights on Franklin. Two: multicolored fog! Three: Because you will be the envy of everybody, even people on the boats (but not the yachts), if the high-pressure system throws us a fucking bone and moves off the coast or something like that. The Fourth of July Fireworks Trip also does something cool: It puts into port at Fisherman’s Wharf, giving you a chance to have dinner and look at the traffic before setting out to a floaty spot under hoped-for stars.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
