Mikal Cronin: Show Preview

Wednesday, Dec 4 2013
Rockers are particularly fond of commemorating beer in song, and though their odes typically profess the merits of whatever is cheap, the annual Bay Brewed Festival is set to radicalize their sorry palates' habitual swilling of PBR. Local outfits Mikal Cronin, Shannon & The Clams, and Kelley Stoltz all boast excellent albums, certain to garner further accolades during the imminent year-end list season, while local breweries like Anchor, 21st Amendment, Magnolia, and Pine Street make the Bay Area a bastion of craft beer excellence. The Bay Brewed merges these local assets into a single event. Perhaps a new era of passionate ballads written for complex Saison beers with velvety mouthfeel is near. Well, the cheap and light stuff will be served too.
