This longtime favorite of the Bay Area's Iranian expatriate community offers white-tablecloth dining, good service, and mostly very modest prices. The long menu allows several approaches to dining: a big spread of dips and other appetizers, most of which are vegetarian, served with a bottomless basket of hot pita bread; a selection of kebabs and rice to share family-style; or a homey one-pot meal, such as braised lamb's shank with eggplant. Offal lovers should make a special trip to sample the stellar veal brains, lamb's tongue, or braised lamb's head (bones and other inedibles removed, so it doesn't look like the cover of the Rolling Stones' Goat's Head Soup).
