Making Out

Wednesday, Sep 25 2013

In San Francisco, innovating once just isn't enough. For the first time, S.F. digital start-up Brit + Co. hosts Re:Make, a two-day convention for creators and innovators to discuss how technology is changing creative industries within the lifestyle, bringing together artisans, inventors, chefs, developers and designers. Friday features conversations with S.F.'s most innovative and relevant makers, including YouTube celebrity make-up artist Michelle Phan. Other events include an on-stage food demo, a fashion and tech panel, and tips from HGTV's Emily Henderson. Day two is open to all — and it's free — featuring a showcase of more than 100 trade booths by artisans and creators, including Sweet Lady Cook jams, 3D printing, and handcrafted iPad cases from DODOcase. Given that San Francisco is the crux of tech-driven innovation, Re:Make will demonstrate the effect of technology on craft: a Pinterest board come to life.

Re:Make starts at 10 a.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets are y at Fort Mason Pavilion, S.F.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
