For the last 13 years, Gen Art hasn’t wavered from its mission of supporting up-and-coming independent creators in several culture worlds, whether film and music or fashion and visual art. One of the highlights of the local office (Gen Art also operates in the art-friendly communities of New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago) is its annual “Fresh Faces in Fashion” runway show. This year, focus your smart sartorial eye on local designers like Anyi Lu’s nostalgically feminine heels; the digitally printed silk fabric and organic canvas used in the Serial Cultura collection; the chic luxury sportswear of Christopher Collins; and O’Lover Hats, which crafts stunning 1940s-style toppers out of materials such as fur felt, straw, leather, and even vinyl records.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
