M. Ward: Show Preview

Wednesday, Apr 11 2012

If you've only ever heard of M. Ward within the context of his sharing a band with Zooey Deschanel (the retro-minded She & Him), do yourself a favor and catch his solo performance this week. Seven albums in — his latest, A Wasteland Companion, is out this month — and the ever-charismatic Ward is still making some of the most intimate and creative folk-inspired music you'll ever hear. Expect a lot of dreamy tunes, pleasant musings, and a roomful of fans so in love they've seen him eight times already.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
