Shocker: A sex-obsessed guy wanker finds it hard to meet girls.

Wednesday, Apr 18 2007
The spirit behind this story of a young man's obsession with sex is so infectiously fun and heartfelt that you wish the Drama Mamas production came together better than it does. Greg is a twentysomething San Franciscan, splitting his time between his IT job, hanging out with his three kooky housemates, and wanking off in his room to just about any online porn he can find. Playwright Jade Raybin captures many funny details of the world of post-college living. The annoying habits of housemates! The humiliation of house parties! But once we get the point that Greg has a hard time with girls, the play stalls on this idea, failing to explore it with any depth until a rushed, confused ending where Greg is forced to face his porn obsession. Shots of real creativity, such as the embodiment of Greg's many online fantasies by a troupe of five dancers, get bogged down in too many scenes where Greg and his housemates talk about their various problems and self-discoveries. Greg talking about his life isn't nearly as compelling as watching him stumble through living it. — Molly Rhodes

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
