Mac Sabbath: Show Preview

For many of us who grew up in the 1980s, our youthful meal and media consumption was filled with the characters of the magical kingdom that was McDonaldland — Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, and more. Fast-forward 30 years — for those McKids who also count Black Sabbath as a favorite band, you're about to encounter the greatest combination since the McDLT! Meet Mac Sabbath, a group that will channel and then hilariously molest your childhood memories by mixing them with your favorite metal. Grabbing classic tunes from Birmingham's best and rewriting the lyrics to focus on all manner of fast-food horror, the band takes to the stage in full costume, wearing brilliantly twisted takes on the iconic marketing imagery while shredding through the songs like an 8-year-old through a Happy Meal.

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
