Long Strange (Bus) Trip

Wednesday, Jan 9 2013
We want to warn you, because otherwise it might bum you out: You’re sitting comfortably on the Magic Bus, grooving out on a loving multimedia gloss of what happened in San Francisco in the 1960s, and the windows suddenly disappear. Because you’re sitting facing the windows, this might be pretty intense. But don’t panic — Antenna Theater, which put this tour together, knows what it’s doing and why. The insides of the windows become film screens, and they show you what was happening outside, where you are right now, back then. It’s not time travel, but it’s a cool way to make a point. The bus visits the Haight, of course, and the park, but also North Beach for a Beat poet moment (window screens come up and you’re at City Lights!), and the nearby Transamerica pyramid for a meditation on capitalism’s space invasions. BYOLSD.
Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. Starts: Jan. 19. Continues through April 30, 2013

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
