With its hand-sewn banquettes and bright, found-art decor, Lolo has a warm, ramshackle appearance and a tapas and small place menu, which, itself, appropriately, feels like a collage: Turkish, Mediterranean, and Mexican fare woven into an inventive, palatable new form. There's a plate of fried huitlacoche dumplings, panko-encrusted shrimp with jicama "tortillas," and flank steak with peach and strawberry mole. Much of the produce at this Mission District restaurant is sourced locally; the wine list is brief and heavy on bottles from California.
