Live From S.F., it's Thursday Night!

Wednesday, Jun 26 2013

San Francisco goes SNL this week with Moonlighting S.F., a live variety and comedy show that celebrates all things local. Hosted by city comic Sean Keane and DJ Jill, Moonlighting S.F. brings together the young, fresh faces of improv and sketch comedy around local arts and culture. Come by 50 Mason Social House for the "preheat" at 7 p.m. to enjoy our city's definition of comedy — or come at 8, when the show really heats up. The lineup begins with stand-up by Ronn Vigh, as well as a 10-minute trip to Hawaii with Uni & her Ukelele, followed by Chicken Scratch Improv and Red Hots Burlesque — and, once again, Wells Day with his suggestive and hilarious performance, "Just the Tip." Complete with wigs, live music, impressions, and of course a bar, it'll be a dream come true for Stefon from "Weekend Update."

Moonlighting SF begins at 7 p.m. at 50 Mason Social House, 50 Mason St., S.F. Tickets are $15 at the door; visit Alyssa Jaffer

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
