Bumpy Ride

One piece of a bigger, crooked puzzle: Good piece of investigative journalism ["Taken for a Ride," Rachel Swan, news, 7/30]. If it is this crooked at SFMTA, one can only imagine what it is like elsewhere in S.F. government.

Another reader responds to the taxi issue: This shake-up has been a long time coming. I don't know anything about the politics behind it, and I don't care! I'm getting good, safe, friendly, and reliable service now. If cabs had all along provided the kind of quality service we're getting from Uber , there wouldn't have been a market for Uber. Cab companies and drivers made their beds.

Howling the doggy blues: Does she think dogs will be going out to buy the album ["Michelle Shocked Records Album for Dogs. Oh Dear..." Rae Alexandra, All Shook Down, 7/30]? If she does, then it's time for her to make a visit to the nearest psych ward.

Reader points to who really needs to find @HiddenCash: Instead of giving away cash to people who find it, and most likely do not really need it, why not give it to some single mom trying to raise her kids on her own, working full time, and still struggling to get by ["@HiddenCash Will Return To San Francisco This Weekend," David Mariuz, the Snitch, 7/29]? That's someone who can really use it. And that's how you give money away.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
