Ladies' Night

The upcoming "Femme Fatale Bass Breakin Ball" should provide an inspired selection of danceable sets. With an emphasis on the deep, low end of the groove, the club night breaks from beat monotony by hosting DJs and live acts in styles ranging from dubstep to rap. One certain highlight: a performance from San Jose–based MC Persia (one half of the Mamaz with DJ Divinity), who possesses an infectious swing to her voice reminiscent of classic conscious rappers like Q-Tip.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
