Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak's groove-laden, atmospheric funk returns to San Francisco for a full band set. The group, whose name derives from a Dutch phrase meaning "crunchy and tasty," deftly melds elements of cinematic jazz, disco, R&B, breakbeat, and deep house with a live drummer, keyboard players, a percussionist, and two vocalists. The act gained international visibility with its 2008 hit "Squeeze Me" (from second album, Plastic People), a perky tune that blends early-'70s-era soul vocals via U.K. singer Ben Westbeech with jaunty keyboards and sweeping strings.
