When we talk about the end of the world, the conversation is rarely
optimistic. Bookshelves are littered with dystopias interwoven with love
stories, but the message within them is often fatalistic. In The Lightest
Object In The Universe, debut novelist Kimi Eisele takes all the
ingredients of a harrowing apocalypse and writes a story about love,
determination, and that human instinct to build a better tomorrow. On
