A lot of holiday events , especially Halloween events, are excuses to drink, as if you need one. But maybe, just maybe, you're looking for an excuse not to drink for a couple hours. We know it sounds crazy, but it could be fun! Journey to the End of the Night is a game that involves running around the city on feet or public transpo only — no privately owned internal combustion engines allowed — finding things, getting signatures, seeing new parts of San Francisco, and, most importantly, not getting "tagged." It isn't actually a game of tag, but getting tagged means you turn into a "chaser" and must then try to tag other players. The game also isn't meant to inspire you to the depths of cynical misanthropy displayed in its namesake French novel. Instead, it's like a cross between a Situationist-style dérive and the hyperactive travel-sport parkour. Plus, it's free, creatively planned for maximum fun by a group called Antiboredom, and culminates in an afterparty where the winner is honored with … we're gonna guess drinks.
