Junior Boys' third album, Begone Dull Care, has an intimate feel that belies the long-distance relationship of Germany-based Matt Didemus and Canadian Jeremy Greenspan, his production partner. Greenspan sings breathlessly over the duo's synth-dependent structures, which groove in a space among ungimmicky pop, funk, and house. "Work" pays tribute to house's focus on the body in motion, while "Hazel" rides a shuffling breakbeat and bold keyboard strokes.
