Joel Fleisher is a lifelong musician and singer, with extensive roots in jazz. Raised in Philadelphia in a family of musicians, his early exposure ranged from big band swing music, doo-wop, classical, and opera. He began performing at an early age, singing on the boardwalk of pre-casino Atlantic City, competing in talent shows and fronting a wedding band.
In California he studied music, including classical voice, eventually graduating from S.F. State. Throughout his college career, he performed in numerous Bay Area musical theater and opera productions. He returned to Philly to headline the new Fairmont Hotel, but soon returned west,
