It's a new decade, and it's damn important that a new party represent this transformative epoch. Who better to take up the task than future-Latin purveyors Bersa Discos? Bersa's Disco Shawn teams up with digital agents Ghosts on Tape and Lazer Sword's Low Limit to launch Icee Hot, a night devoted to two-step, house, funky, and other bass-laden music. It's global sound-system culture gone galactic, and it lands this week at recently upgraded Tenderloin basement space 222 Hyde. The resident DJs supply sets saturated with edgy synths and crunk beats that go boom.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'.
