HUMP! Film Festival: The Best of HUMP! Recommended

When: Feb. 25-28 2015

Smut Starts in the Home

Sure, online porn sites (whether it be a porn -Hub, -Tube, or just You-) promise real amateur thrills, but by now most of us have figured out that regular folks usually don't have multiple-camera setups and pristine wax jobs. The HUMP! Film Festival has been keeping it real — like, really real — for the past decade by showcasing wholesome, homemade smut reflecting all aspects of human sexuality. Curated by Seattle sex columnist Dan Savage, this year's five-minute films include Porn All The Time, a rap song about watching too much porn; EdenXXX, which documents years of very hot, very sandy Burning Man debauchery; and the entirely self-explanatory FUCK.

The HUMP! Film Festival kicks off at 9:30 p.m. and continues through Saturday at the Roxie Theater, 3117 16th St., S.F. $20; humptour.strangertickets.com.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
