Hey Now

Wednesday, Jan 2 2008
In late 2005, after Howard Stern went off the air and the city finally and collectively figured out who Sarah and No Name were, some of you were in mourning. You didn't know how you would get through the day without hearing someone fart 100 times a minute or have an on-air orgasm. The Killers of Comedy are counting on you. The group, featuring a rotating band of Stern show cast, frequent guests, and sometimes Beetlejuice, travel the country betting on the Stern association to fill up venues with young, drunk men, the sort who like to cap an evening by punching one another in front of a strip club. The Killers have a lot to live up to. Consequently, a recurring joke is Bob Levy eating blue cheese or whipped cream out of a woman's ass. Tonight, Beetlejuice doesn't look like he'll be there, but you can get your fill of acting like an asshole by laughing at Gary the Retard, who will be. Also appearing are Reverend Bob Levy, Jim Florentine (of Comedy Central's Crank Yankers fame), The Iron Sheik, Yucko the Clown, Shuli, KC Armstrong, and Brad Thacker.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
