He's Baaaack

A live you-ask-the-questions game show with ridiculous video clips, Google-fu, and a genius in a fez: Voilá the Ask Dr. Hal Show. Step right up and ask any question of the good doctor, and he answers, sometimes in verse, and always using charmingly Rococo language. Who is he, and why does he have all the answers? Really, he's just a sweet guy with a photographic memory and quick wits, but the show employs a lot of literal smoke and mirrors, and by the time the tricksters are done with you, you'll swear he's the Wizard of Oz. Don't ask dumb questions, or you'll be mocked. On the other hand, if your question is good, ("Why do men have nipples?") then Hal's wrangler, the obnoxious host of the show, Chicken John, may offer you a reward.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
