It's sometimes hard to remember that Snoop Dogg was once considered a serious threat to society. In his earliest interviews, he spoke of his life on the streets, dealing drugs, and being a pimp; in 1993, he was charged with murder (but was acquitted in 1996); and, at various points, he's been banned from entering the U.K., Norway, and Australia. But over the years, Snoop has seamlessly transformed himself from a serious Death Row Records G to a mild-mannered weed-legalization campaigner who released a reggae album two years ago featuring a track titled "No Guns Allowed." Now, supporting Bush, his 13th full-length, Snoop has put together an incredible lineup of some of the finest hip-hop artists California has to offer. We couldn't have predicted in 1993 that Snoop would still be going strong in 2015 — but we're very glad he is.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
