Grrrl Crush

Wednesday, Apr 30 2014

Carrie Brownstein, famous for her beloved artistic endeavors Portlandia (the TV comedy show) and Sleater-Kinney (the rock 'n' roll band) is writing an undoubtedly interesting memoir. Her years in Sleater-Kinney established her as a guitar god, and now she's indelibly linked to Fred Armisen, her writing and acting partner in the hilarious, award-winning sketch show. How did she get to be so talented that she's conquered not one, but two (and maybe more that we're unaware of) quintessential life dreams? Perhaps she'll reveal the secrets to her repeated successes in conversation with Bay Area writer Vendela Vida. The event, co-sponsored by Noise Pop, will give you the chance to get a little closer to your No.1 girl crush.
