God Is Bad For You?

Wednesday, Nov 25 2009
Public Christian Doug Wilson delivers the question religious people consider so killing when posed to atheists: "By what standard do you condemn any action?" But in Collision, his opponent is Public Intellectual Christopher Hitchens, who more or less openly opines that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is a moron. So are they talking at cross purposes? Darren Doane's documentary follows the two men around on a joint speaking tour, and of course, fur flies, but the film also finds them behaving respectfully towards each other offstage, and even on, sometimes. An irresistible force meets an immovable object, and it's all terribly well-articulated.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
