Go! Team: Show Preview

Wednesday, Apr 20 2011

The Go! Team is a multiculti group of professional indie-pop cheerleaders, so it follows that the Brighton, England, sextet is best experienced on a stage with the volume turned up to bumpin'. Not that the band's three albums lack in expertise: The latest, Rolling Blackouts, is another high-energy justification for the exclamation point in the band's name, sporting well-used samples, full-throttle throwback-pop instrumentation, infectious chanting, and guest vocal turns from Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino and Deerhoof's Satomi Matsuzaki. But the group truly hits its stride while playing live behind MC Ninja, a dancing queen who tops off the ecstatic package with her spirited rapping.
