Ten years ago, Ghostly International launched its foray into techno by releasing artfully packaged vinyl singles. A decade later, the Michigan-based label is celebrating the fact that it's still thriving and evolving into myriad dancefloor styles by throwing a birthday party where all eight artists on the bill will play live. Expected highlights include S.F. producers Christopher Willits and Tycho, who experiment with guitars and laptops; New York's Michna, who makes bouncy, electro-tinged hip-hop; and Seattle's the Sight Below, whose barely-there sonic introspections make minimal techno seem loud and busy. "

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage.
