Forget the hovercraft: Where the heck are our jet packs? In this, the futuristic year 2008, you’d think we’d all be zipping around in our own private strap-on flying machines. Instead, most of us still seem to be strapped to desk chairs. At the two-day Jet Pack Show, you can get a taste of the future denied you. Actual jet packs, rocket belts, and ducted fan flying machines will be on display, and there will be two live demonstrations each day. Bill Suitor, who piloted the jet pack filmed in the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball, will talk about his experiences, and kids 18 years or older can test out a jet pack simulator. It’s been more than 30 years since a jet pack flew in the Bay Area; they can’t keep us down any longer.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
