George Clinton

Easily one of the funniest articles in The Onion's history was a 1998 gem headlined "Clinton Threatens To Drop Da Bomb On Iraq." That's George Clinton, and if the erstwhile P-Funk leader had been in charge, we probably wouldn't be in the mess we're in today. The world would also be a hell of a lot funkier. George has done a damn good job of loosening booties over the past four decades, and at 68 he shows no signs of letting up — playing upward of 200 shows a year with longtime P-Funk accomplices Garry "Diaperman/Starchild" Shider, Michael "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton, and others still up for the down stroke.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
