Movie Mad Libs
Didn't your momma ever tell you it was rude to talk during the movie? Unless, that is, the following conditions exist: The movie is godawful, you're parked on a couch with someone who shares your bad attitude, and you're a world-class wit. That last prerequisite is usually the sticking point, hence the incalculable social benefit of
Fresh Like Cadaver. Convening the second Friday of every month under the anything-for-a-laugh auspices of Andre Parker, the program commences with a set of stand-up comedy. Then comes the pièce de résistance: A hokey sci-fi flick, soggy romantic comedy, dead-on-arrival horror romp, or sauce-drenched spaghetti Western, augmented by four professional comics providing live commentary and dialogue. This month's selection was a tightly guarded secret as we went to press, but it's probably a safe bet that Parker and pals will avoid the predictable cheap-shot favorites (i.e., anything with William Shatner or directed by Ed Wood).
