Its a conspiracy we have no theory for: The S.F. International Chocolate Salon and BaconCamp take place on the same day. Some of you will lean toward the salon, having dispatched your usual quantity of bacon before sunrise. But many of you are now standing up and gathering your things, having seen the words bacon and camp placed so intriguingly close. The salon will doubtlessly be more lofty, given that people now talk about chocolates that way they talk about wine and French cinema the salon even features wine pairings, along with the offerings (and tastings) from dozens of chocolatiers. But BaconCamp. Are you even kidding us with that? A bit of advice: Dont attend simply to eat bacon. You must engage in BaconCamp; you must live and breathe and smell like it. Meaning, you should bring a dish (heres a quick recipe: 1. Take five pounds of bacon. 2. Add something), and maybe host a presentation, or at least volunteer its a very DIY thing, BaconCamp, so make it your own.
BaconCamp starts at 1 p.m. at 500 Third St., Suite 510 (at Bryant), S.F. Admission is free-$10; visit www.baconcamp.org.
