Usually in black and white, photographer J. John Priola presents a vista, a wall, a window, an object, or a space that evokes something much bigger than that vista, wall, window, object, or space. Through Priolas lens, trees on a farm site become poetic, lyrical and even mysterious. Priolas latest photos (surprisingly in color) are of sidewalks where people leave donations to be collected by charitable organizations. Bags and boxes are juxtaposed against the donators abodes. Whats in the bags and boxes? Why are they being discarded? Whos doing the discarding? People are often absent from a J. John Priola photo, prompting those who see the work to fill in the blanks ourselves.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 30. Continues through Dec. 23, 2011
