Striking Goal

Public gatherings aren't your thing? Don't like massive crowds expressing their love and/or hate during a game? If so, you may want to steer clear of Civic Center Plaza's massive outdoor screening of the Women's World Cup soccer final. You don't have to be a huge soccer fan or speak the native tongue of the teams (the opponents are yet to be determined, though one hopes the U.S. will be there). You do, however, have to come with a good attitude and be prepared for a good ol' time. Food trucks Curveball and Korean Bobcha will be on hand if you didn't bring a sack lunch, and for the little ones who can't sit still, there will be soccer, photo booths, and face painting. For the adults, there will be rock climbing and inflatable soccer arenas.

The Women's World Cup viewing starts at 4 p.m. at Civic Center Plaza, Polk and McAllister streets, S.F. Free; worldcupsf.com.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
