For generations, this city has been a safe haven for outliers, freaks, and perverts who were too fabulous to fit in anywhere else. This season, we celebrate the things that make the rest of the country roll their eyes when we say we live in San Francisco.

Infamous sex advice columnist Dan Savage stars in a YOLO-themed Bawdy Storytelling — raunchy true tales told live without notes (Sept. 10, bawdystorytelling.com).

Though they were pushed out of their Mission district home, Mission Control is still hosting the Bay Area's most creative sex parties at a series of secret locations. The Pink! Party returns Sept. 12 (missioncontrolsf.com).

Do you ever wonder what Folsom Street Fair was like in the beginning? Find out from BDSM legends Fakir and Cleo Dubois at In Leather Pride, A Visual Journey in Kink, a multimedia showcase of their wild lives on the fringe of San Francisco's sexual revolution (Sept. 16, sfcitadel.org).

The Folsom Street Fair Artist's Stage returns with Bay Area bad boy emcee, Jamie DeWolf, who acts as sideshow barker to a buffet of the Bay Area's edgiest performers. With clown burlesque and hook-pull suspensions, this stage is not for the faint of heart (Sept. 21, folsomstreetfair.org).

After Folsom ends, there's no need to wait until next year to get weird. The International Little Miss/Mister Little Contest comes to S.F. on Nov. 15 (darkodyssey.com). Age Play makes some people uncomfortable, but this event is for those who relish the idea of adults decked out in their Toddlers and Tiaras finest.

Even at the seriously wholesome Dicken's Fair (Nov. 22-Dec. 21, dickensfair.com) there is plenty of risqué entertainment if you look close enough. Stick around near the end of the day for the Naughty French Postcards Show which features boobs, butts, and bustled skirts in spades. Happy ho-lidays!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
