Eat Your Lunch

Wednesday, Jan 28 2009
Do you feel dumb? Like a meathead? Maybe you've been watching too much football or South Park. Ouch! Lit & Lunch is the answer: An award-winning international bilingual author waits for you in the calm, pretty art gallery, ready to up your IQ; all you have to do is relax and eat your sandwich. This month it's Yoko Tawada, who writes poetry and novels in both Japanese and German. She'll likely talk about her best-known works like The Bridegroom Was a Dog and her collection of short stories in two languages, Where Europe Begins. Bask in her smarts, and you'll feel better about renting Sex and the City tonight.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
