Does Gavin Newsom really have a foster brother who's been in and out of prison?

Wednesday, Sep 16 2009

This article has been removed by the editors because of a substantial error. The article mistakenly suggested there was no record of Mayor Gavin Newsom's foster brother in the California prison system. While this was the information we received from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation prior to publication, subsequent phone calls to prison officials confirmed that Stephen Ashby had indeed been incarcerated in San Quentin. We regret the error.
