If you look at a piece of art made by Cassandra C. Jones and all you see is a meaningless abstraction, you're a dummy. Or you just haven't looked at it long enough. The kaleidoscopic, eye-tricking political statements she makes sometimes masquerade as pictures of pretty flowers, but it doesn't take that long to figure out the geometric wallpaper is made of crotch-displaying cheerleaders. Often, her work is collaged together from found photographs: Football fields and flamingos become floral arrangements, lightning strings together to make a chain, or an antique horse and rider go through their paces backwards. All is beautiful, and all deserves a closer, and longer, look.
